Roe Green Tennis Club

Roe Green in Worsley is home to one of Manchester’s best kept secrets..it's tennis club! The small friendly club is situated in a picturesque rural setting just behind the bowling club on Beesley Green, and you can enter the courts through Roe Green Cricket Club, which is signposted off Greenleach Lane.

The club has around 100 members and operates a full calendar of social and sporting activities. As an active member of the LTA, (Lawn Tennis Association) the club runs 6 teams in the local leagues, and it offers plenty of social tennis for all standards and ages.

In addition, the club also holds junior coaching sessions to teach and improve young players. At Roe Green Tennis Club, we offer an all the year round tennis ladder, a summer tournament, structured coaching sessions, and drop in sessions on Sunday and Saturday afternoons. We run a very popular coaching session during the summer; with 3 LTA qualified coaches, which has a junior group of aged from 6-12, followed by a second group for teenagers and adults. The sessions are open to everybody, members and non-members alike. It should be noted however, non-members can only attend for a maximum of three times after which as a condition of our insurance they must join the club if they wish to continue. And finally once a week, the senior members of the club meet every Thursday morning for their weekly game of mixed doubles.

In 2008, with the help of a substantial grant from The Big Lottery Fund, 'Awards for All' and a tremendous amount of hard work by the members, the club has managed to invest over £35,000 in providing excellent new courts, made from synthetic grass, and a brand new pavillion. The special 'all weather' surface is fantastic  and it now allows tennis to be played at the club all the year round.

So for either social or team tennis, whatever your ability or age, everyone is welcomed so take the opportunity and enquire about membership today!
